Greta Swaim's Work is held by many discriminating Collectors in many parts of the World. She has had 12 one woman shows and one of her pieces "United Vision" won best in show in three countries (Canada,USAand Central America) and traveled all over the country. Swaim has developed her own Genre and is easily recognized and in most cases she only has to initial her work in all four corners and sign the back enabling the viewer to decide which way they choose to view the piece.

Artist's Statement

"MY CURRENT SERIES HAS EVOLVED FROM PLANE PEOPLE/HEADLINES TO PURE LINEAR EXPRESSIONISM AND AT TIMES, LINEAR IMPRESSIONISM. MY ARTISTIC VISION, THOUGH STILL SOMETIMES CUBISTIC, HAS BECOME MUCH MORE ABSTRACT AND LINEAR. I FIND MY PAINTINGS ARE RESPONDING MORE TO MUSIC. MOREOVER VISIONS OF GEOMETRIC SAILS HAVE BECOME VERY DOMINANT. MY MUSE IS AT PRESENT, 'LINE' AND I WORK WITHOUT A SCORE, IMPROVISING AS I GO...AN INTUITIVE STREAM OF CONSCIOUSNESS THAT LEAVES SHAPES AND IDEAS TO SUGGEST THEMSELVES. "

Methods and Techniques

I START WITH A SMALL STUDY ON PAPER TO ESTABLISH MY COMPOSITION,COLORS,VALUES AND DETAILS .WHEN I AM SATISFIED, I THEN DECIDE WHETHER THE WORK SHOULD BE ON PAPER OR ON CANVAS,ACRYLIC

AND/ OR OIL.ALL CANVAS IS "GALLERY WRAP' GIVING A THREE DIMENSIONAL EFFECT TO THE PIECE..THERE IS ALSO AVAILABLE LIMITED EDITION GICLEES ON PAPER OR ON "GALLERY WRAP' CANVAS AND CAN BE MADE TO ORDER.
